Taking Directions from a Cell Phone

The power of the technology of mobile phones have become even more dominant now that the new cell phone units being sold in the market today have the ability to have a GPS connection anywhere using the network’s signals as well as the satellite signals. Unlike before where it is a bad thing to use a mobile phone while you are driving due to some possible accidents that might occur while driving, currently, the cell phone producers have been able to come up with an idea to contradict such aphorism. GPS have been used before and have been installed to cars to serve as a virtual map to prevent people from getting lost, but since GPS systems are not exactly affordable, phone companies have decided to make it a little cheaper by including it as a feature on their phones.

If you look at most of the latest Nokia, Samsung, Sony-Ericsson and Verizon phones, they all have the GPS feature because it is indeed helpful for their consumers. Whether its plan or prepaid cellphones, you can easily determine your location using your phones when you are travelling because the mobile phone producers made sure that you get this magnificent virtual map.

Drifting for Starters

It should be fun to try drifting if it is you see a big concrete area with nothing on it to hit your car into and avoid getting embarrassed since nobody can see you, especially if you don’t have any idea how to drift yet. First of all, you might want to start by doing a donut. To do this, try to accelerate the car very swiftly and when you are almost red lining in second gear start turning the steering wheel sharply and put your foot on the clutch. Then, pull the hand break up rapidly and then slam it back down but just after you have done that, let the clutch go and power on with the throttle. After that, you should have a control over your car and do the circular motion. After you successfully tried that, you are now set to try drifting around a corner.

To perform a drift, it is very similar to doing a donut but instead of still going, you have to turn the wheel the other way once you are just about around the corner and then put a lot of throttle on and you should be able to do your first driftdrift_ban

My Car and My Refuge

In my desperate need for cheap car parts I ended up spending more. I hate myself for being conceited sometimes and not listening to some people who know more than I do. I think it has to do with my compulsive nature, grabbing anything within my reach and make justifications after. The last time I overspent was for car accessories.

I used to think that my car is my second home so it has to be very cozy. I didn’t also listen to my parents when they told me to buy used cars instead of brand new. My reason is plain and simple, with high maintenance and gas consumption I would end up a loser in the end. That one I don’t regret and still thankful until now.

My car is also my comfort zone whenever I get stressed out of work. She’s my sole consolation of why I have to work hard and keep on working more. I can’t blame my sister for being a shopaholic or my brother for being hooked to computer games. Every one of us tends to find a security blanket, be it inside the home or outside. I also believe that security doesn’t just come to a person but it can be from something. No wonder why Japanese keep on inventing robots.

A Penny for your Thoughts

I almost didn’t recognize my sister when I got to my hometown. Well, it’s been two months since I went home. I didn’t even know that she has traded her second hand cars for other used cars but a latest model or newer one at least. I was surprised when a car stopped by my side and someone told me to get in. It was more like of a guy stalking scene in the movie but then it was my sister.

On our way home, I asked her why did she sell her car and she told me that was tempted to pass by in Cars for Sale and it’s where she learned about the deal. She just had to pay some more like a hundred buck and her car is much better now. Her old car was a Toyota and now she has a Mitsubishi.

Cars are a necessity and I think it’s just ok to invest in them. It’s amazing to know that from those clunkers, a new set of hybrid cars have emerged, not to mention the electric cars being manufactured by Mitsubishi in Japan. Sometimes it keeps me thinking, how come these Japanese guys are so genius when it comes to car innovations and why are they ahead of technology?

Decisions When Buying a Car

How to buy a car may be different, depending on where you are or what you are looking for… Car loans can be really helpful if you want to get something good and it would certainly help if you could make a research of which one you would like to get. The first thing you must decide however, before you begin your vehicle research is whether you want a new car or a second hand car. Of course, there are advantages and disadvantages on both sides.

If you decide to buy a second hand car, there are more than a few things you need to keep in mind. First of all, there are more than a million car accidents every year and chances are if you are in the market for a used car, you might be able to see a second hand car for sale that has been in a car accident. The most important thing about buying a used car is that you know everything about the history of the car. After buying, car insurance should always be considered because statistics show that accidents happen everywhere, and even if you were able to buy a brand new car, accidents can still be possible.

Arguably the Best Racer of All Time

Michael-Schumacher-Official-Wallpaper1

MIchael Schumacher is basically and arguably the most popular and the best F1 Racing superstar of all time. He is currently a seven-time Formula One world drivers’ champion, and current advisor for Ferrari, which is also the top sports car in the market today. As the official Formula One website would say, he is “statistically the greatest driver the sport has ever seen”. He is the only German to win the Formula One World championship, and is credited with making Formula One in Germany really well-liked. In a 2006 FIA survey, Michael Schumacher was voted the most popular driver of the season among Formula One fans.

Schumacher was supposed to make a return to F1 racing for the 2009 European Grand Prix as a stand-in for injured Ferrari driver Felipe Massa. But then again and much to his fans’ dismay, he was diagnosed as not fit enough to race because of the neck injury that he sustained during a German Superbike test earlier in this year. The best part of him right now is that he is an ambassador for UNESCO and a spokesman for driver safety. He has been involved in numerous compassionate efforts all through his life and donated millions of dollars to charity.

Going Cerebral is a Good Thing

While danger of drag racing is always present the general feel of all the racers and wannabe racers out there to feel the burning of tires and immediate acceleration of cars can never be ignored. That is why even though people know how dangerous it may be, they still go in to drag racing. But of course, as with other competitions, there will always be some do’s and dont’s on this kind of contest. I guess the main thing to consider when competing is to make sure to have a lot of brain power, instead of spending a lot of money on the horsepower.

Racers today will spend massive sum of time working on their race cars, but they would actually forget to have a time for themselves. With competition being so fierce and close in today’s’ races, each racer has to take time to look for ways to find a unique mental edge. Going cerebral can really get you a long way. The difference between a good racer and a great racer doesn’t rely on how good the car is or how lucky the driver is, but through mental advantage.

This goes to any kinds of sport as well… if you know how to play wisely, you can never really lose.

The Ultimate Drive

When I was a kid I thought that freedom means having a car. Driving and speed was my ultimate gauge for being a real man. I got my first car the moment I stepped into my legal age. It was my dad’s gift to me. The model is a second hand, ninth generation of Toyota Corolla E120, which I considered to be my first love. My driving lessons came ahead of that, thanks to my cousin and best friend. I could still remember those hazy afternoons where I would go straight to their house after school for my driving lessons. It’s probably one of the reasons why I wasn’t really into girls.

There’s plenty of fish in the sea but cars are much more fun. The urge of being behind the wheel, the freedom of speed, the magic of being transported into another place with the minimum time and the skills to beat all other cars in the road were really tempting. They’re not just the racing games that I play online, but it’s the real me who’s controlling it. I’m also thankful to my father not just for giving me a car but also for introducing me to driving signs and confusing road signs to get my driver’s license. Now that I’m working and have bought my second car, I can say that being behind the wheel is still my ultimate drive.

Toys for the Big Boys

Working in a motorcycle business had its own privileges, I guess. I don’t just talk about motorcycles and their makes but I knew a great deal of specifications as well. One time my friends were talking about American Chopper, a reality program in the Discovery Channel that deals with a business creating custom motorcycles when I butt in and eventually caught them in surprise. I hadn’t told them that my new job is a liaison to my big boss.

Cars, big bikes and other gadgets are usually associated with the masculine gender but the knowledge of them doesn’t just go for men. My boss has his own Harley Davidson, his favorite one along with his collections of sport bikes. I should have been very envious of him; he is the bachelor type, good looking, rich and athletic. Not to mention that most of these are given to him for free (except for the Ducati) from our generous suppliers. He is usually out with his buddies doing motocross and all kinds of racing. He’s a perfect daredevil, someone who you can just find the novels or like Batman himself. Sometimes, I feel like I’m the younger Alfred and my boss is Bruce Wayne.

The Law of Association

I once asked a close friend why she keeps on falling for the same people in our circle of friends .Her answer was plain and simple, the law of association. I don’t know much about psychology but I think I knew exactly what her point is; she’s just being conceited. Deep within, she kept me pondering about the law, and if my understanding is right it means we get to be more attracted to people near us. Anyway, it’s beyond my concern. The idea just came across when I had to deal with word association. I just thought of car rentals followed by two automatic words, Hertz and Avis. Hertz is the largest general use car rental company in the world and the latter gained popularity for commercial segment serving business travelers at major airports around the world.

I think there’s no place on earth where people don’t know the connection of these two. I’ve never had a chance to rent a car because I have my own. But then sometimes when I don’t use my car for financial reasons; parking is really getting higher each year along with toll fees and gasoline, I just can’t help but think again. Are these companies are still earning?
